Iraq's Tallest Soldier - Martyn Walters
7'3"  -  5'2"

BRITAIN:  Talk about a high command! Towering 7ft 3in Irish Guardsman Martyn Walters has set a record as the tallest soldier serving anywhere in Iraq.

UK paper The Sun reports "yesterday he joined the smallest man in his regiment ? 5ft 2in Guardsman Matthew Else, 28, from Birmingham for a jokey “same height” photo.  Martyn, revealed in 2004 by The Sun as the tallest Guard the Queen has ever had, wears a jumbo flak jacket and size 14 desert boots.

Comrades love going on patrol with him as he can see over walls though he is a bigger target for gunmen. Martyn insisted: “The last thing I’d want is any special treatment.”
