FOOTBALL
PAGE 20

marcus mariota smiling headshot This page is all 6'4" (1.93m) American football players who are probably ridiculously handsome too.   Like king of the cuties Marcus Mariota at left.   Born in 1993, this 220 lb. (99kg) football quarterback for the University of Oregon Ducks, and the 2014 Heisman Trophy winner.  More pics of him in the previous gallery. I know so little about football I didn't even know who he was until I started snooping for cute footballers.

Mariota is of Samoan and German descent. He was born in Honolulu to Toa Mariota and Alana Deppe-Mariota. He grew up admiring the quarterback play of Jeremiah Masoli, a fellow Samoan American, who was also a standout quarterback at the all-boys Catholic St. Louis High and University of Oregon. Mariota attended St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was a two-sport star in football and track. In football, he was relatively unknown late in his high school career due to not starting until his senior season. As a senior, he led St. Louis to an 11-1 record and the state title while being named PrepStar Magazine All-West Region and Interscholastic League of Honolulu Offensive Player of the Year.

After his senior season, he was rated the No. 2 recruiting prospect in the state of Hawaii and No. 12 dual-threat quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com. He was recruited by Oregon, Hawaii, Memphis, Utah, Oregon State, Washington, Arizona, Notre Dame, UCLA and USC but was only offered a scholarship by Memphis and Oregon.

Quarterback Jeff Driskel is only 22 in 2015.  He plays for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team. Driskel was a redshirt junior for the Florida Gators during the 2014 fall season, and was the starter at quarterback. On January 3, 2015 Driskel was granted his release from his scholarship, and because he graduated over the summer, he is eligible to play immediately at Louisiana Tech as a graduate transfer.

Driskel accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida, where he played for coach Will Muschamp's Florida Gators football since 2011. As a freshman, Driskel appeared in five games, completing 16 of 34 passes for 148 yards with two interceptions. He became the team's starter as a sophomore in 2012. He led them to an 11-2 record and a berth in the 2013 Sugar Bowl, in which Florida lost to Teddy Bridgewater and the Louisville Cardinals. After starting three games in 2013, Driskel broke his right fibula in a football game against the University of Tennessee and missed the remainder of the season. Prior to the start of the 2014 college football season, Driskel was put on the Maxwell Award and Davey O'Brien award watch-lists. Additionally, Driskel was named to Phil Steele's pre-season 3rd Team All-American list. On January 3, 2015, Driskel was granted his release from Florida and he transferred to Louisiana Tech.

Dennis Pitta, nicknamed American Express (born 1985) is an American football tight end for the Baltimore Ravens. He played college football for Brigham Young University (BYU) and was a consensus All-American. He was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

Pitta was born in Fresno, California to parents Dennis and Linda Pitta. His father played college football as a middle linebacker for California from 1968 to 1969. Pitta attended Moorpark High School in Moorpark, California, where he earned letters in football, basketball, and track. He is an Eagle Scout. He played football as a wide receiver and cornerback, and his large size made him difficult to cover. As a senior in 2002, Pitta recorded 64 receptions for 1,150 yards and 13 touchdowns. That season, he was named a first-team all-county, all-league, and all-area player. He was a scholar-athlete all four years in high school and was also named a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete. Pitta was shown interest by Dartmouth, Navy, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Utah, and Yale, but no Division I school offered him a scholarship.

Andre Carter (born 1979) is a former American football defensive end. He played college football for the University of California, and was a unanimous All-American. The San Francisco 49ers selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, and he has also played for the Washington Redskins, New England Patriots, and Oakland Raiders of the NFL.

Anthony Barr (born 1992) is an American football outside linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings. He was drafted by the Vikings ninth overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at UCLA, where he was a consensus All-American in 2013.  Barr's father, Tony Brooks, and uncles, Reggie Brooks and Cedric Figaro all played in the NFL. All of them also played at Notre Dame.

Brian Ndubisi Orakpo (born 1986) is an American football outside linebacker for the Tennessee Titans. He played college football for the University of Texas, and was recognized as a unanimous All-American. He was drafted by the Washington Redskins with the thirteenth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He has been selected to three Pro Bowls.
